Darkening days of fall
Low vivid light just after school The brilliant colours of leaves Against a crisp blue sky High scarce clouds Ribbed in the wind's breath Like the decaying wreck of a nimbus ship In the darkening depths of the crystalline sky The cold kiss of the wind Against the soft skin of your face You were the boy who once waved goodbye To the good ship Nimbus As it embarked upon its voyage To harpoon the Cirrus Whale.
